About me
I believe humanity is at a critical turning point and we need to learn how to grow “planetary communities” to help regenerate the Earth. My work is dedicated to help make this evolutionary leap.
I first learned about the power of planetary communities through AIESEC - the world’s largest student organization focused on developing leadership potential in young people. I was president of the local chapter at my university and became fascinated with how the global network kept evolving over 50+ years in a self-organizing way.
This experience led me to start a PhD on the question of how global networks evolve as partly movement, business and community. My research object was Impact Hub - a fast-growing network of coworking spaces dedicated to radical collaboration for the SDGs - and I quickly fell in love with the community. Consequently, I co-founded Impact Hub Zürich and joined the global leadership team to guide the network’s transition towards a distributed organization with 100+ spaces across the world.
Having learned what it takes to cultivate an ever-emergent, globally networked community, I started working as a facilitator to help other impact-driven networks such as WWF, the Responsible Leaders Network and the League of Intrapreneurs operate more as a community and interweave across the planet. Today, I focus on the question of what makes a community truly regenerative, drawing inspiration from indigenous wisdom as well as highly experimental communities such as Burning Man, Enspiral and Bioregional Weaving Labs. I recently co-founded Together Institute to explore this question together with fellow community weavers and have co-authored the Community Weaving Framework to share our insights.
To regenerate myself, I practice yoga and contact dance.
